Topical Collection Information

The changing climate has an impact on food production. Agriculture is impacted by temperature extremes, variations in precipitation patterns, concentrations of greenhouse gases, and shifts in pests and diseases. Extreme weather brought on by climate change not only causes short-term disruptions to agricultural growth but also gradually changes the growing environment in different regions. Changes in weather patterns are a serious danger to the world's crop productivity, bringing up concerns about food security and sustainability. Both a change in farming practices and an increase in crop resilience are needed to mitigate the consequences of climate change. Authors are invited to contribute original, quality research papers or reviews for this special issue. A broad range of topics will be considered including but not limited to:

  • Diagnosis and forecast of climate change
  • Climate change impacts on agriculture and food security
  • Adaptation and mitigation strategies to address climate change
  • Climate-smart agriculture
  • Low carbon green growth strategy
