Topical Collection Information:

Dear Colleagues,

The proposed issue focuses on the connection between advanced biofuels and ecological resilience. Try to answer how relevant the advanced biofuels are for ecological sustainability by emphasising the technological, economic, and environmental implications of transitioning to bio-based energy systems. As climate change effects intensify, the need for scalable, sustainable energy alternatives that are, i.e., ecologically and economically viable, has never been more urgent.

This issue focuses on these dimensions and explores how advanced biofuels can support achieving global climate goals while protecting biodiversity, land health, and rural livelihoods. It will examine emerging conversion technologies, market frameworks, and ecosystem service trade-offs, ultimately contributing to a roadmap for sustainable energy futures.
