In today's rapidly evolving global landscape, the digital economy plays an increasingly pivotal role in driving economic growth and societal progress. Concurrently, sustainable and innovative development has become a key strategy in addressing global environmental and social challenges. Against this backdrop, we cordially invite you to contribute to our topical collection: **“Social Science Insights on Sustainable and Innovative Development.”**
This collection aims to gather the latest research findings and innovative ideas from around the world, exploring how the digital economy, through technological innovation and data-driven solutions, can promote sustainable development. Additionally, we focus on how innovative development can drive environmental protection, resource management, and social progress. We particularly encourage submissions that examine these themes from a social science perspective, including but not limited to:
- The role of the digital economy in promoting a green economy and sustainable development from a social science perspective
- Social implications and societal impacts of innovative technologies and methods in environmental protection
- Policy analysis and social science research on sustainable development practices
- The use of digital tools in social science research related to environmental and earth sciences

- The role of social sciences in smart cities and sustainable infrastructure development
