  • Welcome Prof. Krik Chang as Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Psychological Research

    We are delighted to announce that Prof. Krik Chang has been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Psychological Research. Prof. Chang received PhD of Occupational Psychology (Manchester) and has been working in both academic and consultancy fields for nearly three decades. Prof. Krik Chang is a Chartered Scientist (CSci) and a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol), and he has received prestigious fellowships from the Royal Society, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the British Psychological Society, and the Higher Education Academy.

    He also is a renowned media commentator, author of book chapters, commissioned reports, and peer-reviewed journal articles, and has presented research papers at conferences in fifteen countries. Prof. Chang's research focuses on personnel management, with a particular emphasis on exploring the impact of technology, such as AI and digitalization, on employee behavior, group dynamics, teamwork, competitive advantage, and organizational performance.

    Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Prof. Krik Chang as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Psychological Research. We are excited to have him on board and look forward to his outstanding contributions in this new role.

  • Welcome Professor Howard Giles to the editorial board of Journal of Psychological Research

    We are pleased to announce that Professor Howard Giles has been appointed to the Editorial Board of JPR!

    Prof. Howard Giles is a Distinguished Research Professor of Communication at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Honorary Professor in the School of Psychology at The University of Queensland, Australia . Past President of the International Communication Association (ICA: 2000-01). He was also former Reserve Detective Lieutenant at the Santa Barbara Police Department and, currently, is its Founding Director of Volunteers in Policing.  He is an elected Fellow of 8 learned societies (e.g., the Royal Society of Medicine) and recipient of numerous academic awards, including the inaugural Career Productivity award from ICA in 2000. Giles has researched language and communication across a range of intergroup settings, including police-community and intergenerational ones, and published 30 books, 20 journal special issues, Handbooks, and an Encyclopedia as well as many hundreds of academic articles and chapters.

  • New special issue theme announced: Welcome to be a guest editor

    The Journal of Psychological Research announces three themes for its special issue, and we welcome further proposals and potential guest editors from established scholars, early career researchers, and practitioners with expertise in various areas of psychology. We encourage innovative and interdisciplinary proposals that advance the field of psychology and have a significant impact on research, practice, and policy.

    The Guest Editor will be responsible for conceptualizing and organizing the special issue, including identifying potential contributors, soliciting and reviewing manuscripts, and coordinating the peer review process. We expect Guest Editors to adhere to high standards and to maintain timely communication with the editorial team throughout the process.

    Proposals are welcome to be submitted by March 31 to Nass-sms@nassg.org. We look forward to receiving your proposals and working with you to advance the field of psychology.

  • Is pre-marital consultation important? Married couples from Laterbiokoshie, Accra, Ghana gave the latest answers

    In Ghana, the effort put into studying role of pre-marital counseling on marital satisfaction is inadequate. Although pre-marital counseling is practiced in many parts of Ghana, its influence on intimacy, locus of control and self-esteem in relation to marital satisfaction is unknown. In connection with this, the current study seeks to investigate the role of pre-marital counseling on marital satisfaction and the relationship of three variables, intimacy, self-esteem and locus of control among married couples who received pre-marital counseling and married couples who did not receive pre-marital counseling.

    The process of collating and peer review for the next issue release has already begun.
