
Articulated Information and the Formation of Human Reality: A Linguistic-Theoretical Approach

This article develops the concept of articulated information to explain how language participates in the formation of human reality. The central problem is that language is often treated either as a neutral instrument for representing an already completed world or as a purely social convention. This article argues for a different position. Information becomes reality-relevant when it is articulated into distinctions, classifications, narratives, speech acts, institutional procedures, and media forms. The article is presented as a theoretical essay and conceptual synthesis drawing on semiotics, philosophy of language, speech act theory, social ontology, discourse theory, narrative studies, media theory, and recent work on digital language systems. Its main contribution is the distinction between truth and reality-effect. Articulated information may become experientially, behaviorally, culturally, or institutionally real even when its truth-status is uncertain, partial, distorted, or false. The article also clarifies how articulated information differs from related concepts such as discourse, representation, classification, symbolic power, institutional facts, and social construction. A developed case example shows how diagnostic language can become consequential across personal, institutional, and social contexts. The article concludes that human reality is formed through the articulation, stabilization, mediation, interpretation, and practical consequences of information, without reducing material reality to language.
