Peer Review Process
Journal of Atmosphere Science Research (JASR) has always been committed to providing high-quality and influential academic publications and recognizes the importance of peer review in ensuring the quality and reliability of its publications. Therefore, JASR has established a rigorous peer-review policy. All manuscripts submitted to JASR will undergo a strict double-blind peer review process, ensuring that reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout. Additionally, peer review comments will not be made public. JASR does not accept reviewers recommended by authors for peer review.
Peer reviewers must not work at the same institution as any of the authors or have recently (within the past three years) served as mentors, close collaborators, or joint funders.
The peer review process includes the following steps:
*Initial Review: Once a manuscript is submitted to the journal, managing editors conduct an initial review to determine whether it aligns with the scope of the journal, has an appropriate structure, and is free from plagiarism (verified using iThenticate). Manuscripts that fail to meet our standards or ethics policy will be rejected outright. Manuscripts that pass the initial review proceed to the next stage.
*Reviewer Assignment
If the manuscript passes the initial review, managing editors assign it to multiple independent expert reviewers in the relevant field. The managing editors evaluate the expertise, research background, and experience of potential reviewers to ensure that the selection process is fair, transparent, and impartial.
*Reviewers Submit Reports: Reviewers conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the manuscript, providing detailed comments and suggestions. Any supplementary materials included in the submission will also be evaluated with the same rigor as the main manuscript.
*Final Decision:
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on at least two review reports and informs the authors of the outcome. Decisions may fall into one of the following categories:
- Accept: The manuscript is accepted, and the managing editor sends an acceptance letter, arranges further processing, and schedules publication.
- Revisions Required (Minor Revision): The authors are requested to make revisions and resubmit the manuscript within 7-14 days. The managing editor reviews the revised manuscript and makes a final decision.
- Resubmit for Review (Major Revision): The authors are given 14-30 days to make substantial revisions and resubmit for a second round of peer review.
- Reject: The submission is rejected, and the managing editor informs the authors.
Once an article is accepted for publication, it is considered to have completed the peer review process. Before online publication, manuscripts undergo text editing, layout editing, and proofreading. Authors receive proofs for review and verification to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the article.
JASR’s peer review policy aims to ensure that every article published has undergone a professional, fair, and transparent review process. We greatly appreciate the support and cooperation of our reviewers and authors, whose contributions enable us to maintain high-quality and reliable publications.
Authors may appeal the rejection of their manuscripts by writing to contact@bilpubgroup.com. The appeal must include detailed reasons for the appeal and a point-by-point response to the reviewers' comments. The Editor-in-Chief will review the appeal, considering all relevant information about the article. The Editor-in-Chief’s decision on the appeal is final and cannot be further contested.
