S.C.O.P.E Upgrade!
2023-05-24We have refreshed the journal scope under the leadership of Prof. John HT Luong, to embrace the emerging trends in the field.
We add a total new item, "Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs)" for encapsulation and stabilization of labile biomolecules. The use of LNPs in the COVID-19 vaccines is a remarkable example. In addition, other scope descriptions have been enriched.

In this study, we reported the dosimetric response of fabricated (ZnO)0.2(TeO2)0.8 thin film sensor during irradiation with high-energy X-ray radiation at various doses. We adopted the spray pyrolysis method for the film deposition and soda-lime glass substrate as the substrate material. We characterised the film sample for structural and morphological properties. The results revealed that the XRD pattern of the fabricated thin film is amorphous nature and FESEM image shows non-uniform shape of nanoparticles agglomerated separately. The I-V characteristics measurements indicates that the current density increases linearly with X-ray doses for all applied voltages. The current-voltage measurement test for fading normalised in percentage to day 0 was found in the order of day 0 > day 15 > day 30 > day 1 > day 2. These results are expected to be beneficial for fabricating cheap and practical X-ray sensors. -

Converting CO2 to valuable resources with the help of nanoparticles
2019-09-29An international research team has used nanoparticles to convert carbon dioxide into valuable raw materials. Scientists at Ruhr-Universität Bochum in Germany and the University of New South Wales in Australia have adopted the principle from enzymes that produce complex molecules in multi-step reactions. The team transferred this mechanism to metallic nanoparticles, also known as nanozymes. The chemists used carbon dioxide to produce ethanol and propanol, which are common raw materials for the chemical industry. Making polyurethane degradable gives its components a second life
2019-09-02Polyurethane waste is piling up in landfills, but scientists have a possible solution: They have developed a method to make polyurethane degradable. Once the original product's useful life is over, the polymer can easily be dissolved into ingredients to make new products such as superglue. These polyurethanes could also be used in microscopic capsules that break open to release cargo such as biocides.(by American Chemical Society) Read more about Making polyurethane degradable gives its components a second life -
