Topical Collection Information:

This special issue invites scholarly articles that explore the diverse dimensions of Albanian literature, with a particular focus on the foundations of Albanian comedy and various aspects of literary production throughout the 20th century. We seek contributions from a wide range of perspectives, including but not limited to:

    • Foundational Figures in Albanian Comedy: Pioneering Authors: In-depth analyses of key authors such as Kristo Floqi, Mihal Grameno, Foqion Postoli, Dhori Koti, and Ilo Mitkë Qafëzezi, examining their roles in establishing and evolving Albanian comedic literature.
    • Narrative Techniques and Humor Styles: Critical examinations of the narrative structures, comedic devices, and stylistic choices in seminal Albanian comedic texts.
    • Impact of Political and Social Changes: Research on how major historical events and social transformations in 20th-century Albania influenced literary trends and genres, particularly comedy.
    • Literary Movements and Schools: Exploration of various literary movements within Albania, their origins, characteristics, and key contributors.
    • Application of Literary Theories: Utilization of diverse literary theories and critical frameworks, such as structuralism, post-colonialism, and feminism, to analyze Albanian literary texts.
    • Interdisciplinary Approaches: Incorporation of insights from sociology, anthropology, and cultural studies to enrich literary analysis.
    • Interdisciplinary and Linguistic Approaches: Incorporation of insights from sociology, anthropology, and cultural studies, alongside linguistic analysis, to provide a multidimensional understanding of Albanian comedic literature.
    • Cross-Cultural Linguistic Influences: Comparative studies examining Albanian literature in relation to other Balkan, European, or global literary traditions, analyzing linguistic parallels and divergences in the use of satire, irony, and comedic timing.

  • Submission Guidelines: We welcome original research articles that offer new insights, innovative methodologies, or novel interpretations related to the themes outlined above. Interdisciplinary and comparative studies are particularly encouraged. All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure academic quality and relevance.

Additionally, please include a cover letter specifying that the manuscript is intended for the Topical Collection "Language Teacher Training in Rural Environments" when submitting it online. Manuscripts can be submitted until the submission deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal and will be listed together on the Topical Collection website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract can be sent to the Editorial Office bingfeng@bilpubgroup.com for announcement on this website.

    The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1600 USD.

    Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process.
